New Horizons In 1987 the band was looking for new challenges and as well as entering B.Y.B.A. contests also joined the newly formed British Drum Corps Federation (B.D.C.F.). This represented a major step in both standards and levels of competition. The Commodores continued to win B.Y.B.A. contests and achieved a number of second and third places in their first year in B.D.C.F. A further change of uniform saw the band appear in it's now more familiar green uniforms, white trousers, yellow cumberbund, green/white shako's with a yellow plume.
