![]() [1982] -Position: Music: Drum Majors: 1982 saw\ the introduction of the Green and White uniform, new valved instruments for the first time, a new Colour Guard and membership up to 70 - plus various committees, supporters groups etc. They became sponsored by Crown Wallpapers (£2000) and grants from the Round Table, Parents, Committees etc. financed the purchase of American Dynasty instrumentation. They had moved into the Premier Division and finished that year in 9th place in the U.K. (Out of more than 600 bands). The numbers continued to increase to nearly 80 members (All but two of whom came from Poynton and Bramhall). There were also contest successes at Brighouse and Bristol, Birmingham and Blackpool and many more. At the end of that year, they finished in 8th position in BYBA (British Youth Band Association).
